Copper Sky Lodge is the third Designated Supportive Living facility designed and operated by Choices in Community Living. Copper Sky Lodge is committed to providing the highest quality of care to its residents by maintaining and improving their independence and strengths while ensuring that they receive timely, competent, and dignified assistance with those activities that they can no longer do for themselves. This is reflected in the mission, vision, and values of Choices in Community Living.

Assisted (or Supportive) Living merges the concepts of independent living and 24-hour support. It offers a home environment for people who value their autonomy and privacy, but who also require assistance or supervision with activities of daily living. Shared responsibility, choice and managed risk are the key concepts on which Assisted Living is founded. Dignity, independence, privacy, individuality, confidentiality and providing home amenities are hallmarks. Wherever possible, Assisted Living allows residents the opportunity to direct their own lives to the maximum extent of their abilities.

Designated Supportive (Assisted) Living is a term used by Alberta Health Services which indicates that there is subsidy and placement for persons requiring Assisted Living services into “designated” units. Residents of Copper Sky Lodge are placed in these units through Continuing Care (Alberta Health Services), and personal care is coordinated with AHS Case Managers on site. If you are interested in placement into a Choices in Choices in Community Living, please contact AHS Community Care Access – 780-496-1300.
